Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure offering safe and controlled skin abrasion
Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical method of rejuvenation by means of mechanical skin exfoliation without chemicals or laser. It offers a modern, virtually painless, alternative to chemical and laser peels and is a versatile procedure that can be combined with other treatments to help achieve the desired results. In other words, it sandblasts off the top layer of skin. Similar to when a building has the outer surface blasted off.
The diamond tipped wand glides over the skin with a vacuum action gently polishing the skin. The treatment is more gentle than traditional methods as a selection of diamond wands are used to create an individual treatment for each client.
Microdermabrasion erases the epidermal layer of varying depths in a controlled manner, minimising new trauma. It mechanically alters the epidermis and invigorates cell renewal to create a healthy, balanced skin surface. It is then possible to improve or eliminate many skin conditions and skin imperfections.
The evolution of chemical peeling and dermabrasion in common use today began in the early 20th century. Recently, the use of selective photothermolysis (removal by light) in the form of laser resurfacing has become widespread. However, microdermabrasion is not as harsh.
For fine lines and more superficial scars, microdermabrasion can be an effective treatment with minimal risk and rapid recovery, however, it can be ineffective for deeper wrinkles or scars.
The most commonly treated area is the face, but microdermabrasion can be used effectively on the neck, hands, and chest. No premedication is necessary, unless desired. Prior to the procedure, the skin is cleaned of all makeup and oil. No topical or local anesthetic is necessary.
The Youth Maintenance treatment package using the Diamond Touch system can be carried out during lunch times as it can be quick. No one will know where you have been.
As Youth Maintenance is a personal, one-to-one service, we will recommend how often you will need to have microdermabrasion. This treatment can also be combined with other anti-ageing treatments, such as galvanic and micro-current, for amazing results.
